busy week!

Wow.  It has been one heck-of-a week.  In the last 7 days, we have:

Gone to our first Red Rocks Concert together.  And what a Doozy!  It was Mumford and Sons, we were in like, the 16th row, with two great friends.  Confetti was released, dancing ensued, and an overall super fun, uplifting and carefree experience!

Joined a softball league–well, Scott did.  Since we’ve been here, Scott hasn’t really had a chance to reconnect with many of his friends, and this is a big change coming from Phoenix, were he had SEVERAL really good friends int he area.  When we got the text on Tuesday (from Abby’s husband Nick) asking if he wanted to join the league, he jumped at the chance.  Even though they lost terribly (mercy rule, anyone?), he still had fun hanging out with a group of guys for a few hours.  I’m glad he has the chance to make new friends, be athletic, and just RELAX at least one night a week!

Saw a Padres Game.  Well, I suppose it was technically a “rockies” game–but we went to see the Padres.  And they won!  We had phenomenal seats (row 10!) for free, courtesy of our friend Nick and Abby, who ALSO came with us.

Went to Tour De Fat–in the Motherland.  Being in Fort Collins this year was crazy–SO many costumes! 🙂  So much to see and do!  It was definitely WAY bigger than Phoenix, and even though this was just our “feeler” year, we still had tons of fun, drank some good beer, and have a good idea of what to expect next year.

Checked out the “Taste of Colorado”.  While this was fun, it was the most “underwhelming” experience of the weekend.  It’s a great idea–tons of food booths in Civic Center Park.  BUT, it was too busy, too overpriced (for food I would consider average) and FAR too crowded.  It was nice to get out and have a variety of food samples, but I don’t know that we’ll be attending in future years.

This week promises to be even busier!  After running errands (and working-ew) on our day off today, we’ve got two days of work before we head off to DC for the weekend!  So excited to meet up with old friends, see some great sites, and eat some delicious food.  It is weeks like this I am SO HAPPY we moved here, and feel like things are in such a better place–we are living, having fun, and just enjoying ourselves so much 🙂
